Construction update: Yoga and swimming and golf, oh my!

Dim the lights, grab the popcorn and settle into your seats.

Our guests were treated to a day at the pictures to watch a community construction update on the big screen. They also got to watch the latest Mission Impossible film, catch up with neighbours and meet new ones, and enjoy a drink and some nibbles!

The construction update detailed the progress that’s been made so far in building the Lakeside Lara Community Hub and new homes, and gave some information about the exciting things to come.

Across the community, 50 homes have now been completed through stages one and two, with 90 new residents now calling Lakeside Lara home. Stage three construction will commence in July, with 45 new homes to be built over the next 12 months.

The newest community facility – the Community Hub – is also under construction, with the main building structure now up, including structural steel frame, in-ground services, concrete slabs and the swimming pool.

“The community hub has been designed to complement the existing facilities while providing a whole heap of new and exciting amenity for our residents to enjoy,” said James Wheelock, Victorian Development Director at Ingenia Lifestyle.

Following the previous construction partner, Lloyd Group, entering voluntary administration in late March this year, we’re proud to have appointed Hanlon Construct as our new building partner, who is already on site, and excited to help deliver these state-of-the-art facilities for residents.

Once complete, the Community Hub will feature a plethora of additional gathering and activity spaces, including a heated indoor pool and yoga studio, hair salon and art studio, a large function room and theatre, and even a golf simulator.

“The golf simulator – my husband can’t wait for that to happen!” said one of the Lakeside Lara residents.

The next milestones will be the roof, windows and facade, then landscaping and interiors – with the opening scheduled for early 2024.

Residents are excited about the new spaces and activities the Clubhouse will offer: “I think it’s going to be great to have a community room where you can go and have a coffee and a chat with people,” said one resident.
