Construction kicks off on final homes at Nature’s Edge
On Wednesday 6 October Ingenia Communities and Mr Dan Purdie MP Member for Ninderry celebrated the start of construction on the first release of the final homes at Ingenia Lifestyle’s newly acquired Nature’s Edge community in Buderim, Sunshine Coast.
The community – owned and operated by Ingenia Communities since March 2021 – will welcome a new, and final, chapter as construction begins on 68 new homes in the established community, with new residents set to be ready to move in from mid 2022.
Ingenia Communities General Manager Residential Justin Blumfield said the development of more retirement living opportunities was vital as a larger number of Australians move towards retirement age.
“We need to be investing in and creating communities that will accommodate and meet the lifestyle needs of an increasing demographic of older Australians,” Mr Blumfield said.
“We’re very excited to be expanding the Nature’s Edge community to welcome more residents on the Sunshine Coast, a region that has long been popular among downsizers.
“Where land lease living was once an alternative housing solution for downsizers, it’s very much becoming the mainstream as people look to maximise their lifestyle and social opportunities through their retirement.”
Plans for the final stage of land will also include a second state-of-the-art clubhouse as an additional community hub.
The community’s popularity reflects reports[1] that the largest number of Aussies − including downsizers[2] − leaving capitals cities are heading to coastal regions like the Gold Coast and the Sunshine Coast.

Mr Dan Purdie MP Member for Ninderry said he was thrilled to see more residential opportunities coming to the region.
“I am so happy to be a part of a new land release on the Sunshine Coast when many are currently scrambling for housing,” Mr Purdie said.
“I welcome Ingenia’s expansion and the construction of homes that will also translate into jobs and a boost to the local economy.”
“The lack of housing stock we are currently experiencing in the face of increased internal migration has placed increased pressure on the market across the board.
“There is no doubt that local and interstate buyers are realising the amazing lifestyle and amenity that is on offer here on the Coast.
“I am proud to work with my local community to open up opportunity and meet need.
“I have heard great things about Ingenia and their attention detail and the high quality of housing and lifestyle options they provide. I look forward to the role they will play in supporting residents of Ninderry.”
Homes in the final stage at Ingenia Lifestyle Nature’s Edge are now selling.

The second clubhouse for the Nature’s Edge community will service new and existing residents.
