Sweet treats for RSPCA Cupcake Day
More than 15 residents at Ingenia Lifestyle Bethania put their baking skills to good use helping to raise vital funds for animals who have had a ruff start to life – hosting an RSPCA Cupcake Day stall.
The residents were able to raise almost $700 for the worthy cause by selling cupcakes, baked goods and even some homemade doggy treats.
The stall was held on the community’s Open Day on Saturday 17 August, by residents and dog lovers Annette Anderson, Marie Confeggi and Jenny Gray.
Community Manager, Linda Thompson, said the team and residents all worked hard to plan an amazing event to raise money towards fighting animal cruelty.
“Our pets are incredibly important to us, especially as we age and for those who live alone.
“There are plenty of residents here with dogs and the daily walks around the community are just one of the many ways in which the residents and their canine friends socialise and remain connected.
“When someone goes away on holidays, there’s always someone happy to help out by looking after their pet. Our pets have really helped form a tightknit community and group of friends.
“We were excited to support the RSPCA Cupcake Day and there were also plenty of cakes eaten!” Linda said.
