Popular local over 55 community hits century milestone

Ingenia Lifestyle’s Latitude One community in Port Stephens reached a significant milestone recently – welcoming new residents into its 100th home.

Cheryl and George Perridge were officially welcomed into the community on Friday 28 June by first residents Jannette and Ken Scott, Ingenia CEO Simon Owen, Customer Experience Manager Laurel Shepherd and Latitude One Assistant Project Manager Max Camden.

Cheryl and George made the move to Latitude One – a land lease community designed for over 55s – to free up some equity from their large family home, improve their lifestyle and connect with other like-minded downsizers.

“Our old home was too much for us – we lived there for 39 years – there was lots of upkeep involved in having an older larger home,” Mrs Perridge said.

“We love the comfort of our new home at Latitude One – it’s so much easier to look after and we don’t have to worry about maintenance.

“We now have more time to do what we actually want to do and can come and go as we please.

“The social aspect of living in a community was really important to us and now we get to enjoy a relaxed lifestyle surrounded by like-minded people.”

Proving popular with downsizers, Latitude One – one of six land lease communities by Ingenia Lifestyle along the NSW coastline – is close to selling all homes in its first five stages and has launched into the sixth sales release since construction started mid-2017.

Mrs Perridge said the space and facilities were what set Latitude One apart from other developments when searching for their new home.

“We looked at some other communities in the area, but Latitude One stood out to us,” Mrs Perridge said.

“We still wanted our own space, a free standing home, a fence and space for our caravan.

“Ingenia Lifestyle offered all these features and other fantastic facilities that come with a lifestyle oriented community – like the clubhouse.”

“Life in our new home is better than we could have imagined.”

Latitude One’s sales success was recently recognised by the Property Council of Australia’s National Retirement Living Awards, with Ingenia Project Sales Manager Sheree Richardson announced as a 2019 finalist for the Salesperson of the Year award. The award ceremony will be held in November.
