New clubhouse opens its doors for Stoney Creek community

More than 200 people joined Councillor Kathie Collins from Blacktown City Ward 3 to celebrate the opening of Ingenia Lifestyle Stoney Creek’s new community clubhouse.

The brand new clubhouse will become a social and entertainment hub for resident events and gatherings with a large commercial kitchen, accompanying dining and lounge area, a library and an alfresco deck with barbeque facilities and sun deck.

Councillor Kathie Collins, who unveiled the new space, said establishing and preserving a close community has always been a key focus for Ingenia.

“The new clubhouse provides a place for residents to gather together and is an important element that helps create a sense of community and belonging,” Councillor Collins said.

“Creating a sense of community remains at the heart of Ingenia’s vision for its residents, and I congratulate Ingenia for delivering on this promise.

“I also want to acknowledge the important role Ingenia has played in providing high quality and affordable seniors’ accommodation in our City’s booming northwest growth corridor.”

Residents of Ingenia Lifestyle Stoney Creek agree the new facilities are valuable assets that will foster the friendly atmosphere the community lifestyle creates.

81-year-old Bruce Kennedy who has been living in the Stoney Creek community since 1984 said residents couldn’t be happier with the new clubhouse.

“Our new clubhouse is a fantastic addition to the community, and all the residents are thrilled with its new features,” Mr Kennedy said.

“Hopefully the clubhouse will become a hub for our community’s social events and will provide a new space for residents to connect and socialise.

“A group of residents and I get together every week and head out to the local club, but with the new clubhouse we will be able to catch-up without having to leave the community.”

The new clubhouse at Ingenia Lifestyle Stoney Creek will become a hub for events in the community’s social calendar, providing space for residents’ social activities as well as accommodating a variety of meetings, events and the Ingenia Care Wellbeing program. The program aims to improve the independence and wellbeing of residents by assisting them to access a wide range of consumer directed care and service choices.
