Latitude One teams up for an adventure
The team at Latitude One jumped on board to help drive resident, Carmel Gerits’ fundraising goals for her Variety 4WD off-road adventure.
Sixty-seven year old Carmel participated in the Variety 4WD Adventure and has been overwhelmed by the support she received from her Latitude One community.
Carmel arranged a number of fundraising initiatives to raise funds for sick, disadvantaged and special needs children in desperate need of assistance.
“I am so grateful to my community for its support, everyone did their little bit to help out with over $4,000 worth of prizes and donations from the wider Port Stephens community,” Carmel said.
Generous local businesses, including Ingenia, donated a variety of prizes to incentivise involvement in the event.
Latitude One Activities and Events Coordinator, Felicity Hamilton said the fundraising had been a huge success.
“It’s inspiring to see Carmel and our residents come together to help support such a worthy cause with all the proceeds from the fundraising going directly to Variety,” Felicity said.
Before moving into Latitude One, Carmel worked in schools with special needs children and saw firsthand the impact Variety can have on children and families in need.
Carmel has now returned home to Latitude One to plan her next fundraising endeavour.
