Construction update: Reading and bowling and pool, oh my!

Dim the lights, grab the popcorn and settle into your seats.

Parkside Lucas residents were treated to a day at the pictures to watch a community construction update on the big screen. They also got to watch the latest Indiana Jones film, catch up with neighbours and meet new ones, and enjoy a drink and some nibbles!

The construction update detailed the progress that’s been made so far in building the Parkside Lucas community, and gave some information about the exciting things to come.

“We’re full steam ahead,” said James Wheelock, Victorian Development Director at Ingenia Lifestyle. “Construction is coming along nicely, and we’re looking forward to hitting more development milestones along the way.”

Across the community, 30 homes have now been completed through stages one and two, with 60 residents now calling Parkside Lucas home. Stage three construction has commenced, with 35 new homes expected to become home to an additional 60 residents in the next 12 months.

The new vibrant heart of the community – the Clubhouse – is also under construction, with the main building structure now up, including structural steel frame, in-ground services, concrete slabs and the swimming pool.

Following the previous construction partner, Lloyd Group, entering voluntary administration in late March this year, we’re proud to have appointed Hanlon Construct as our new building partner, who are excited to help deliver these state-of-the-art facilities for residents with construction full steam ahead.

Once complete, the Clubhouse will feature a plethora of gathering and activity spaces, including an indoor pool and gym, bowling green and croquet, billiards room, lounge area with fireplace, an art studio and library, and a spacious kitchen with shared dining and events area.

The next milestones will be the roof, windows and facade, then the construction of the wellness studio – which will feature consulting rooms and a hair salon – with the opening scheduled for early 2024.

Residents are excited about the new spaces and activities the Clubhouse will offer, and as one resident said: “I’m looking forward to the opening – I’m sure there’ll be Champagne that day!”
