New resort-style clubhouse coming to Bethania

Bethania residents are looking forward to the new addition to their community

On Wednesday 24 June 2020, the Ingenia Lifestyle Bethania community was joined by Councillor Tony Hall of Logan City Council to celebrate the first sod turning of a second $3 million resort-style clubhouse.

Expected to open in the first half of 2021, the completed clubhouse will become an additional social hub of the community and boast an array of state-of-the-art facilities including a swimming pool, spa, alfresco barbeque area, lawn bowling green, hair salon, community hall, kitchen, bar, library and media room.

Nikki Fisher, Chief Operating Officer – Ingenia Communities and Councillor Tony Hall, Logan City Council turn the first sod on the new clubhouse at Ingenia Lifestyle Bethania.

Ingenia Communities Regional Development Manager Matt Fedrick said the new clubhouse would help to further expand the community and give residents more dedicated spaces for activities and social occasions.

“Over time we’ve invested in upgrades to the existing clubhouse to enhance facilities and add extensions to take advantage of the river views, with a new deck that’s completely changed the atmosphere,” Mr Fedrick said.

“But as the Bethania community has grown, we felt the need to provide more facilities that cater to a wider range of needs and interests.

“This second clubhouse has really been designed to complement the existing one and to bring new activity areas for residents to enjoy and to activate both community centres.”

The hair salon and consultant room, 20-metre swimming pool, 4-lane competition size bowling green and media room are just some of the facilities that the new clubhouse will offer to residents.

For long-standing residents Nev and Jo Tait, who have enjoyed their 11 years being part of the Bethania community, the second clubhouse will be a positive addition to the community.

“I just feel that it’s a real benefit to have the two clubhouses because it will give two different experiences and it’s an opportunity for the original residents, like us, to welcome the newer residents and help them get involved in the community,” Mrs Tait said.

“The new clubhouse will have a spa and I can already see myself in it! It will only be a hop skip and a jump away.”

“The one thing that really attracted us to the village was the existing clubhouse and I think a second one will be really positive because it’s going to be new, it’s going to be different and it’s going to be modern,” Mr Tait said.

Matt Fedrick, Regional Development Manager and Stephanie Clark, Development Manager walk Councillor Hall through the clubhouse plans.

Denise Fisher and Phillip Choyce have lived at the Bethania community since April this year and are looking forward to what the new clubhouse will bring.

“It will give us a variety of different activities to get involved in and we’re just looking forward to being able to use some of the new facilities as things get back to normal,” Ms Fisher said.

“But mostly, because the community is becoming so big and you can’t always meet everyone, it will be good to have another place to get to know people that we wouldn’t normally catch up with.”

Residents who downsize to Ingenia over 50s communities are looking to stay healthy, active and social alongside a low-maintenance and relaxed life – the second clubhouse will give the Bethania community even more opportunities to be involved in.
