It was a well-deserved victory for residents at Ingenia Lifestyle Parkside Lucas on September 30, when they took on the staff in one of the community’s favourite events – the Staff vs Residents Bowls Competition.

The friendly rivalry saw residents and staff face off across three rinks, with plenty of laughs, cheers, and even a few pom poms from our spirited supporters on the sidelines.

This was the second time our community, in Ballarat, has hosted the event, building on the previous success where the residents also claimed the win. Once again, they proved unbeatable – taking out the competition in style with an overall score of 49–21 and a breakdown of rinks as follows:

• Rink 1: Residents 12 – Staff 5
• Rink 2: Residents 16 – Staff 11
• Rink 3: Residents 21 – Staff 6

After the games, everyone came together for a relaxed community barbecue, where stories of great shots (and a few near misses) were shared over delicious food.

The event was a wonderful reminder of the strong community spirit at Ingenia Lifestyle Parkside Lucas, where fun, connection, and a touch of healthy competition bring everyone together.

Ingenia Lifestyle Parkside Lucas Community Manager Clare Irving said it was a fantastic event to unite residents and staff.

“Our staff love the chance to connect with residents in a fun and informal way, and the energy from everyone on the day was incredible. The pom poms on the sidelines might just have made the difference,” she said.

“We’re already looking forward to the next bowls event when staff will be plotting their comeback!”
