Seaside hotspot for boomers in Bargara’s new oceanfront community

Situated overlooking the sparkling Coral Sea, this brand-new lifestyle address features a remarkable location with resort-style amenities to match.

Ingenia Lifestyle Drift is one of the only oceanfront communities of this style along Australia’s east coast, in the scenic town of Bargara in Queensland.

Overlooking the ocean, Bargara is poised to be the ultimate lifestyle destination.

Set to feature luxurious resident amenities, well-appointed homes and beautiful design, Drift offers a stylish home base in a picturesque part of Coastal Queensland.

Ocean views forever

Drift is positioned right on the headland overlooking the ocean, with a future clubhouse planned to capture ocean views for all residents and their guests.

“To have an oceanfront over-50s lifestyle address is incredibly unique, and every detail was considered with that in mind,” says Justin Blumfield, Executive General Manager – Residential Communities at Ingenia.

“Our vision was really about creating a vibrant, connected community that celebrated being in a prime oceanfront location.”

Naturally, Drift’s position opens it up to the surrounding environment, which has been considered in its design.

Ingenia is all about community, which is what makes their residences so special.

For example, light emissions from the Clubhouse will be kept at an appropriate level, and the turtle trails that pass by the community have been considered in the design.

“It was really important to us coming into that community that we were sympathetic to the local environment.,” says Blumfield.

Luxury lifestyle

Even though Drift’s location makes it the perfect starting point for travel adventures, residents may rarely want to venture outside its bounds.

There will be a huge selection of resort-style amenities on offer, making life at Drift feel much like an eternal vacation.

In the coming months Drift will open its first community space, The Green House, which will offer the opportunity for residents to connect and socialise. The name was inspired by its location opposite the planned bowling green.

Downtime will be made easy in the future lagoon pool and Clubhouse.

Longer term the vision for Drift divides amenity across two locations, one focusing on health and wellness and the other geared towards social connection.

Residents will be able to get access to a future lagoon pool, gym, yoga studio, pickleball courts, bowling green and billiards room, along with a bar, dining area, function space and community garden.

The oceanfront Clubhouse will be a highlight with expansive Coral Sea vistas, making it a great place to meet with fellow residents or visiting guests.

“It was a deliberate design choice to position the Clubhouse right at the front and centre of the community,” Blumfield says.

“It should create a beautiful sense of arrival because it’s right on the oceanfront.”

Drift is also pet-friendly, with ample parkland including a dog park. There’s also a community bus for residents who like to adventure, and they will be able to take advantage of future caravan and boat storage, too.

Convenience and connectivity

Despite its serene location, Drift is still well-positioned to take advantage of everything Bargara and the region has to offer.

It’s only 10 minutes from Bargara’s town centre, which has a shopping village, restaurants, cafes, and amenities including medical clinics, parks, sporting clubs and a popular golf course.

Residents can also easily travel to other parts of Queensland – like Brisbane, the Sunshine Coast and Hervey Bay – via the Bruce Highway, or get to Bundaberg Airport in only 20 minutes.

Unsurprisingly, Bargara’s desirable combination of convenience and calm is drawing a growing number of locals to the area.

“We’re continuing to see that regional Queensland markets are outperforming, and population growth remains strong,” says PropTrack senior economist Eleanor Creagh.

“Bargara [in particular] is a coastal location, and many property seekers continue to prioritise coastal properties and the value and lifestyle offered by proximity to the ocean and the beaches.”

Designer homes

Adding to Drift’s resort-like feel is the range of architecturally designed homes on offer, created by renowned resort architects DBI.

The contemporary, open-plan dwellings come with either two or three bedrooms and include carefully selected fixtures, fittings and appliances that exude a sense of opulence.

Meticulously crafted, these homes feature top quality fittings, fixtures and design features.

The homes have also been thoughtfully designed to be low-maintenance and accessible with flexible living spaces, to ensure they suit residents for years to come.

Plus, the designs are versatile so residents can truly make their homes their own.

“The design intent for Drift was to create a contemporary, coastal look,” says Blumfield.

“The homes are very light and bright, and all of our colour palettes are neutral, making them ready for residents to bring in their own flavour.”

Despite their home and style choices, he says one thing all residents will enjoy is the stunning oceanfront location.

“That was a really important choice for us, to make sure that no matter which home you call home within the community, everyone will be able to enjoy an oceanfront view from our Clubhouse.”
