Two of Ingenia Lifestyle Lake Conjola’s first residents, Chris and Karen Ryan, moved from Ulladulla in 2018 after making the decision to downsize and invest in their retirement.
“Downsizing before retiring made sense for us, it has allowed us to have more options – we have the ability to go on holidays and invest in hobbies that we love,” Mr Ryan said.
“Since moving into Ingenia Lifestyle Lake Conjola we have been able to go on a couple of trips in the caravan, through the Warrumbungles mountain range and also down into Victoria.
“We have also been able to buy a boat, it’s an old wooden clinker and it is perfect for cruising down the lake and going fishing — I can see myself using it much more once I retire.”
Mr Ryan noted that the option of a land lease community had enabled him to secure a new home at a lower cost.
“We would not have the same benefits if we had bought somewhere in town — moving here has allowed us to have peace of mind and has hopefully brought my retirement forward by at least 18 months,” he said.
