A luxury Bushland Retreat for over 50s at Victoria Point
Ingenia Communities, with the support of its first residents, has broken ground on a multimilliondollar luxury clubhouse and sports precinct at its over 50s community Sanctuary Victoria Point.
The Bushland Retreat is the very first of its kind for the Sanctuary community and was celebrated in a sod turning ceremony by residents, Ingenia representatives, State Member for Redlands, Kim
Richards MP and Redland City Councillor Lance Hewlett.
Ingenia Executive General Manager Residential Justin Blumfield said residents have been engaged throughout the entire development process including naming the precinct, which was revealed to residents during the sod turn ceremony.
“When the idea for the clubhouse and sports precinct came about, we wanted to ensure residents were given the opportunity to vote for their favourite name and this process was received greatly by the community,” Mr Blumfield said.
“This inclusive approach has allowed residents to have a personal stake in the development, fostering a sense of pride and ownership amongst the community.
“We know how much our residents value connecting with one another, the Bushland Retreat will provide an avenue for residents to maintain their physical health, create long lasting connections
with like-minded neighbours and forge a strong sense of community,” Mr Blumfield said.
“Much like its namesake, the Bushland Retreat has been designed to integrate seamlessly with the natural bushland corridor that defines Sanctuary Victoria Point.”
Ingenia Lifestyle Head of Development QLD, Adam Forrester, said Ingenia was excited to get works underway.
“We can’t wait to deliver this much-anticipated project to our residents by early 2025. This is the first community clubhouse, so everyone is eagerly awaiting the Bushland Retreat,” Mr Forrester said.
“We expect to see many wallabies, tawny frog mouths, galahs, lorikeets and kookaburras throughout the community and have provided nesting boxes for sugar gliders, ringtail and brushtail
possums, parrots and ducks, ranging from 2m to 15m high.”
Sanctuary Victoria Point residents Narelle and Wayne Mackinnon said the community couldn’t wait for the facility to be complete.
“We are all very eager to get in there and make the most of what the Bushland Retreat has to offer. Everyone has been buzzing around and talking about how wonderful it is that the works are so close to starting, and now that the first sod has been turned, we’ll all be waiting for the official opening,” Ms Mackinnon said.
“My husband can’t wait to use the extra community space and is eager to use the swimming pool, gym and golf simulator.”
Mr Mackinnon said the Bushlands Retreat will fit in wonderfully with the surrounding nature.
“Sanctuary is in a really beautiful location, with so much bushland throughout. The facilities will have a wonderful view of some of that bushland, it will be lovely to spend time there once it’s complete,” Mr Mackinnon said.
“Narelle and I have been living in Redlands since 1987. Once we saw the community being built, we just thought what a wonderful location that will be. We put our name down and sold our house then moved in here last November.
“The Bushland Retreat will really add to the community, and I think we are all very keen for it to be ready for use. I’ll be getting into the pool and gym as soon as I’m able to!”
Upon completion, the Bushland Retreat will feature an array of amenities including a sports pavilion, bowling green, gym and yoga room, resort pool, cinema, arts and craft studio, library, lounge, and much more.
