“Throughout the process, Ingenia Communities worked closely with the residents to identify opportunities to further improve their lifestyle experience at Ingenia Lifestyle Hervey Bay,” Mr Blumfield said.

“We believe great amenities aren’t just a ‘nice-to-have’ – they’re an essential part of thriving and connected communities and we’ve seen how they successfully create places where people want to live.

“The community already features a luxurious resident clubhouse – The Eagles Nest – though we really wanted to expand the amenities on offer at Hervey Bay, and we’re very excited to announce, ‘The Hangar’ is now complete ready for resident use.

“It was great to be joined here by residents as we officially cut the ribbon, there were some very excited people taking the facility for a test run,” Mr Blumfield said.

The new facilities feature a caravan and boat washdown and community shed, which incorporates a host of new amenities including a microbrewery, dog wash area, boat storage, fileting area, smoker and barbecue area.

The community has been designed with sustainability principles at the forefront and incorporates inground water tanks for water capture reuse and local irrigation and a 30kW solar system integrated with a community battery.

Resident Graeme Wright will oversee the management of The Hangar alongside four other residents and said he’s excited for the facility to be in full swing.

“The Hangar is very well done, we are all really pleased with the whole set up, it’s the cream of the crop when it comes to this sort of facility, that’s for sure,” Mr Wright said.

“Personally, I’d have to say the workroom is pretty damn good! There will be something for everyone, we’ve got the brewery, kitchen, outside barbecue area, industrial laundry, caravan wash down and dog wash. The dog wash will be great because there’s lots of pups in the community.”

“I’m looking forward to using the caravan wash for a start, It’ll be the first thing I do now we’ve got access to The Hangar.”

“We do a happy hour here every Friday afternoon, with the brewery it’ll be interesting to see if anyone makes a home brew that we can try, I’m certainly interested in having a go!”

Councillor John Weiland attended the opening ceremony and said the new facility would encourage mateship and wellbeing among the Ingenia Lifestyle Hervey Bay community.

“I was excited for the Ingenia community to see such a state-of-the-art facility that catered for all residents,” Cr Weiland said.

“All the separate aspects of the facility encouraged work and hobby in a group setting. This would encourage mateship and wellbeing for the residents.

“Other parts like the caravan and underbody wash, dog wash and storage will make Ingenia the envy of other communities in the region.”
