For Sue and Peter North, the decision to downsize wasn’t about giving something up - it was about gaining a lifestyle that felt easier, calmer and more enjoyable.
After relocating from Sydney and spending several years in the region, the couple found themselves ready for a change. The upkeep of a larger home no longer suited the way they wanted to live, and they began looking for something more manageable.

Since then, Sue and Peter have embraced a lifestyle defined by simplicity, connection and a strong sense of comfort.
“We wanted something low maintenance, somewhere that felt easy to live in,” Sue said.
“It’s peaceful, it’s quiet and you feel safe. It’s just a really friendly, happy environment.”
That sense of ease is something the couple say has made a lasting difference to their day-to-day life. With less time spent maintaining a home, they’ve been able to focus more on the things they enjoy.
For Sue, that includes staying active and social. She enjoys the pool, taking part in aqua aerobics classes and attending community events throughout the year.
“There’s always something happening, from seasonal events to social gatherings, and we love being part of that,” she said.
For Peter, life at Ingenia Lifestyle Latitude One complements an already active lifestyle. He remains heavily involved in the broader Port Stephens community, while still enjoying the benefits of a home base that is easy to maintain and return to.

Looking ahead, Sue and Peter are preparing to move into a new home within Ingenia Lifestyle Latitude One- a new build which forms part of our extension plans that will be ready by early June. By transitioning to a home with a smaller garden, they’re further simplifying their day-to-day living, while maintaining space for family to visit and stay.
“It gives us that flexibility,” Sue said.
“We can spend more time between here and Sydney with family and still have everything we need.”
