Jenny downsized without compromise

Luckily, she stumbled across Ingenia Lifestyle Element.

“I did a lot of research when we started thinking about downsizing and moving to a community,” Jenny said.

“Location was a big factor. I wanted to be close to Newcastle, close to the beach, and still close enough to get home to family.”

Maintaining a village lifestyle was also important for Jenny, who moved with her dog Dougal.

“It was a big decision, so I wanted to make sure it was the right one,” added Jenny.

“The sales process was really good. It was easy, and with no stamp duty, it made sense financially.

“I realised I’d have been spending almost the equivalent of what I was spending now elsewhere, once you add in site fees and exit fees, which can be quite horrendous.”

Jenny and Dougal’s new home has proven to be everything they hoped for and more.

“The houses are lovely - airy, bright, and spacious,” Jenny said.

“We’ve actually got the biggest kitchen we’ve ever had! For us, it didn’t feel like downsizing at all.”

Beyond the home itself, Jenny has found a lifestyle that keeps her active, social, and fulfilled, and recommends it to everyone.

“The clubhouse has exceeded expectations, it’s beautiful. There’s a great kitchen, a cinema, pool tables, an outdoor eating area, barbecue, bowling green, pool and spa.

“This is a community of like-minded people in a beautiful place. It’s a new way of living – it’s what retirement should be.”
