An active lifestyle exceeded expectations for Wayne and Karin

Like many downsizers, the couple had reached a point where their large family home no longer suited the way they wanted to live. The property had become increasingly difficult to maintain and the stairs were becoming a challenge as Wayne's knee problems worsened. 

But while they knew it was time for a change, they weren't looking for a traditional retirement village. 

Instead, they wanted a vibrant community where they could stay active, make new friends and enjoy a lifestyle focused on connection, wellbeing and fun.

"My husband wanted to move here before I did," Karin said. 

"I thought maybe I was too young, but then I realised it's not a retirement home, it’s actually a resort. It's just like living in a resort." 

That shift in mindset proved transformative. 

Since moving to the community, Wayne and Karin are making full use of the community's facilities, social activities and wellness opportunities. 

"We are much fitter and healthier since we've moved here," Karin said. 

For Wayne, staying engaged and involved has been one of the biggest benefits. But it is the friendships they have formed that have made the greatest impact. 

"I'd say I've made more friends here than I have in my whole lifetime," he said. 

"If you keep busy, it keeps you younger, and that's what I like about this place. There’s always something to do.” 

Having neighbours close by, regular social events and a welcoming community has turned everyday life into something much richer than either one of them expected. 

The couple say the clubhouse and community facilities have become a natural extension of their home, providing places to exercise, relax, connect with friends and entertain family. 

Looking ahead, they are excited about the future, including the new facilities planned as part of the expansion.
