
While recent activity within the road corridor has prompted questions from members of the community about whether the road upgrade has already begun, these relate to the diversion of sewer infrastructure required for the growth of the area and are separate from the planned Boomerang Drive upgrade.
The road upgrade remains a key piece of infrastructure for both the local community and future residents of Ingenia Lifestyle Kokomo. All parties are currently targeting commencement of the upgrade works in July 2026, however final timing remains subject to approval of traffic management arrangements and other project requirements.
As discussions continue, particular consideration is being given to managing impacts during peak holiday periods to minimise disruption for residents, visitors and local businesses.
A final construction start date and project program will be confirmed once all approvals and agreements have been completed.
Ingenia remains committed to delivering the Boomerang Drive upgrade, which will provide improved road infrastructure and an extended pedestrian pathway for the benefit of the broader Blueys Beach community. Further updates will be provided as the project moves towards construction.
