Meet Allison, Community Manager at Millers Glen

06 Jul 2026

With a background in aged care and a passion for helping people navigate major life transitions, Allison Devine plays a pivotal role in supporting residents as they settle into Ingenia Lifestyle Millers Glen.

What do you love most about Millers Glen and your role?
The people and their dogs! I love walking alongside our residents as they make big life decisions. For many of our residents, this is their first time living in a community setting and I am proud to be part of that journey with them. I love being the anchor to assist people in establishing and enjoying their new home and lifestyle.

What has surprised you most about the land lease space?
That more people haven’t cottoned on to what a great model it is. So much so, my parents now call Millers Glen home. As I explained to them, you can be as social or private as you like, the facilities are there if you choose to utilise them.

Ingenia is known for its customer-centric focus. How are you driving this approach at Millers Glen?
I approach all situations with an empathetic mind. I always think, if me or my loved one were in this situation, how would I want to be treated? I don’t think you can go too far wrong if you approach life this way.

What’s one thing you’ve implemented or championed in your role that you’re particularly proud of?
I have been in talks with the local college that is in very close proximity to Millers Glen to start some intergenerational programs. This will foster a deep sense of community spirit and enable the residents and students alike to experience life through the lens of other people.

The idea of “community” is central to what Ingenia does – how do you foster a sense of belonging among residents?
We encourage residents to take ownership of their community, whether that be tending to the number of community gardens we have or sharing knowledge between each other.

What’s the best piece of feedback you’ve received from a resident since stepping into your role?
That moving to Millers Glen has been the best decision of their life. If I can play even a small part in bringing that much pleasure to someone, my job here is done!

Looking ahead, what excites you most about the future of Ingenia’s communities?
The autonomy to work with our residents to tailor make a lifestyle that fits them. We have a very strong social club at Millers Glen and working alongside residents enables us to create programs that the residents truly want.
