Celebrate the completion of our thriving community

The milestone follows the completion and settlement of the final new home, bringing to a close a development program that has delivered 457 homes across 38 stages since construction began in 2019. 

On August 13, residents, Ingenia representatives and project partners recently joined Fraser Coast Deputy Mayor Lachlan Cosgrove and Council members for a community street party to celebrate the achievement and reflect on how far the community has come. 

Ingenia Communities Executive General Manager – Residential, Kristy Minter, said reaching completion was a proud moment for everyone involved. 

“What began as a former golf course has evolved into a vibrant community where more than 730 residents enjoy an active, social and connected lifestyle in one of Queensland’s most sought-after coastal locations,” she said. 

“Most importantly, it’s become a place people are proud to call home. The friendships, support networks and sense of belonging that have developed here are what truly bring the community to life.” 

Over the past seven years, Ingenia Lifestyle Hervey Bay has grown alongside its resident community, with homes, shared spaces and recreational facilities progressively delivered as new neighbourhoods took shape. 

The recent completion of new pickleball courts, community gardens and a putting green marked some of the final pieces of the original masterplan. 

Today, residents have access to three distinct lifestyle hubs, each offering something different. 

The Eagles Nest clubhouse features a bowling green, swimming pool and spa, cinema, billiards room, arts and crafts spaces, library, dining facilities and bar. 

The Pavilion adds a further range of wellness and recreation facilities, including a resort-style pool and spa, sauna, steam room, gym, yoga room and golf simulator. 

The Hangar provides a space for practical pursuits and outdoor living, with a workshop, microbrewery, barbecue and smoker area, boat and caravan wash facilities, communal boat and a collection of shared tools. 

Residents can also enjoy walking trails, off-leash dog parks, fire pits, barbecue areas and bocce as part of the established community. The current Ingenia Lifestyle Hervey Bay site highlights the community's extensive recreation, social and wellness amenities. 

While construction may now be complete, resident Paul Barker said the milestone was as much about celebrating the people who had made the community their own. 

“Today isn’t just about celebrating the completion of a village. It’s about celebrating the beginning of a community,” he said. 

“This is a place where people don’t just move in, they settle in. Before long, you discover you know more neighbours here than you ever did in the suburbs.” 

Paul has lived at Ingenia Lifestyle Hervey Bay for three-and-a-half years and has become actively involved in community life, including serving on the HOC, acting as Treasurer of the Social Club and helping create the community's Memorial Garden. 

He said it was the everyday connections between neighbours that made Hervey Bay special. 

“A house becomes a home because of the memories made inside it. But a village becomes a community because of the people who fill it with kindness, friendship and a willingness to look out for one another,” he said. 

With all 457 homes now complete and the final residents moved in, Ingenia Lifestyle Hervey Bay enters its next chapter as a fully established community. 

For Paul, there is still plenty to look forward to. 

“The construction may be completed but village life is only just beginning,” he said. 

“There are friendships still to be made, morning walks to enjoy, dogs that will happily walk us, celebrations to share, birthdays to mark, plenty of laughs to be had, and countless stories still waiting to be told.” 

After seven years of development, it is now the residents who will write the next chapter at Ingenia Lifestyle Hervey Bay. 

As Paul put it: “We, the residents, are the heartbeat of the village.”
