Drifters take the plunge for Daffodil Day

The community rallied behind the Daffodil Day Dip, which challenges participants to brave the cold water while raising funds to support cancer research, and there was also a packed program of fundraising activities for residents to get involved with in the lead-up to the dip. 

From cupcake decorating, Toastie Tuesday and Taco Tuesday to 100 Square raffles, scratchie raffles, Qigong classes and line dancing, there were plenty of opportunities to contribute. 

The community also embraced Daffodil Day’s signature colour, dressing in yellow to show their support, while the Drift Craft Group got creative making daffodil headbands and beautiful daffodils to help brighten the occasion. 

Ingenia’s Executive General Manager – Residential, Kristy Minter said it was a wonderful example of the community spirit at Ingenia Lifestyle Drift. 

"Residents found plenty of fun and creative ways to come together while supporting an important cause,” she said. 

“What made it particularly special was how many different people got involved, whether they were taking the plunge, joining a class, buying a raffle ticket, baking, dressing in yellow or simply coming along to support their neighbours. 

“There was such a great sense of enthusiasm across the community, and everyone found a way to play their part. 

“Cancer is something that has touched so many of us, our families and our friends, so it was wonderful to see our residents and staff rally together and raise more than $3,000 for the Cancer Council.” 

A huge congratulations to everyone who donated, volunteered, joined an activity, dressed in yellow or braved the dip. What an incredible community effort!
