Ingenia Lifestyle Hervey Bay celebrates completion of 457 home community

The milestone moment at Ingenia Lifestyle Hervey Bay follows settlement of the final new home within the community, with residents, Ingenia representatives, and project partners gathering with Fraser Coast Mayor George Seymour and Council members for a special street party at the community on August 13. 

Home construction at Ingenia Lifestyle Hervey Bay began in 2019, with the community growing to comprise 457 homes delivered across 38 stages. 

Ingenia Communities CEO John Carfi said the completion represented a significant achievement for everyone involved in the project. 

“Reaching the end of development at Ingenia Lifestyle Hervey Bay is an incredibly proud moment and one that reflects the vision, commitment and collaboration of everyone involved over the past seven years,” he said. 

“What began as a former golf course has evolved into a vibrant community where more than 730 residents enjoy an active, social and connected lifestyle in one of Queensland’s most sought-after coastal locations. 

“Most importantly, it’s become a place people are proud to call home. The friendships, support networks and sense of belonging that have developed here are what truly bring the community to life.” 

The completion of the community follows the recent delivery of its final amenities, including new pickleball courts, community gardens and putting green. 

A key differentiator of Ingenia Lifestyle Hervey Bay is its three distinct lifestyle hubs that cater to recreation, wellness, creativity and social connection. 

The first clubhouse, The Eagles Nest, features a billiards room, bowling green, pool and spa, cinema, arts and crafts spaces, hair salon, library, dining facilities, bar area and dedicated Anzac memorial. 

A second resort-style clubhouse, The Pavilion, expands the wellness and social offering with a pool and spa, sauna, steam room, gym, yoga room, golf simulator, consult room and indoor and outdoor dining and entertainment spaces. 

The third hub, The Hangar, celebrates outdoor living and practical lifestyle needs, incorporating a workshop, industrial laundry, microbrewery, boat and caravan wash facilities, barbecue and smoker area, communal boat and more than $30,000 worth of shared tools. 

Residents also enjoy walking trails, two off-leash dog parks, fire pits, barbecue areas, bocce amenities and use of a community boat. 

Mr Carfi said the community demonstrated the growing appeal of resort-style communities among over 50s Australians seeking connection, wellbeing and low-maintenance living. 

“Ingenia Lifestyle Hervey Bay has consistently attracted strong demand because it offers much more than a home. It provides a genuine sense of community, outstanding amenities and the opportunity to enjoy an active lifestyle surrounded by like-minded neighbours,” he said. 

“The completion of this community is a testament to the strong partnerships between Ingenia, our construction partners and residents, who have helped create something truly special.” 

Ingenia’s Head of Development, Queensland, Adam Forrester said it had been incredibly rewarding to watch the community take shape from the first civil works commencing in 2019 through to the completion of the final homes and amenities. 

“Along the way we’ve delivered 38 stages, two clubhouses, extensive recreational facilities and most recently our new pickleball courts and community gardens, but it’s the friendships and sense of belonging that have developed here that really define the community’s success,” he said. 

“Seeing residents embrace everything Hervey Bay has to offer and create such a strong community spirit is what makes milestones like this so special.” 

Resident Graham Henry moved to the community four years ago with his wife Christine and is now fully immersed in the way of life. One of his proudest achievements has been helping to deliver a new war memorial for the community. He said it’s the sense of belonging that truly sets the community apart. 

“We live on a small street of seven or eight homes. Every Thursday at 5pm, we rotate houses with our neighbours for darts and drinks – men in the garage, women in the backyard enjoying a wine. It’s become a nice little ritual for us as friends,” he said. 

While Ingenia Lifestyle Hervey Bay has now sold out, Ingenia continues to expand its Queensland portfolio, with homes currently available at Ingenia Lifestyle Drift in Bargara, Ingenia Lifestyle Kō in Gordonvale under construction south of Cairns, Ingenia Lifestyle Seagrove at Yeppoon progressing towards launch, and a recently announced community at Townsville.
