Construction begins on oceanfront clubhouse at Ingenia Lifestyle Drift

Construction has officially commenced on a multi-million-dollar oceanfront clubhouse at Ingenia Lifestyle Drift, marking another major milestone for the growing over 50s coastal community.
Today’s sod turn ceremony signals the beginning of work on The Edge Clubhouse, which is expected to be completed in late 2027 and will further enhance the Bargara community’s premium lifestyle offering.
The Edge Clubhouse is the second clubhouse for the community and has been designed as a vibrant social destination where residents can relax, connect and enjoy resort-style living with Coral Sea views.
It will feature a resort-style swimming pool, informal dining area, library and business hub, bar and games lounge, entertainers' kitchen, cinema, arts and crafts room, meeting room, and an outdoor terrace with barbecue amenities.
Ingenia representatives gathered to mark the occasion alongside project partners, residents and dignitaries, including Bundaberg Mayor Helen Blackburn.
Ingenia Communities Head of Development Queensland Adam Forrester said the commencement of construction represented another significant step in bringing the vision for Ingenia Lifestyle Drift to life.
“Breaking ground on The Edge Clubhouse is an exciting milestone for our residents and the broader development of Ingenia Lifestyle Drift,” he said.
“The oceanfront clubhouse has been carefully designed to make the most of its unique location, creating a place where residents can come together, entertain family and friends, pursue their interests and enjoy everything that coastal living has to offer.
“As the community continues to grow, it's important that we continue investing in high-quality lifestyle amenities that encourage connection, wellbeing and an active way of life."
The Edge Clubhouse builds on the success of Club Drift, the community's sport and wellness hub, which opened in September 2025 and features a lap pool, gymnasium, wellness spaces, sauna, steam room, bowling green, tennis and pickleball courts.
Ingenia Communities Head of Operations - Lifestyle Queensland Nicole Jentz said the new clubhouse would further strengthen the lifestyle offering already enjoyed by residents.
“Club Drift has become a wonderful hub for health, fitness and recreation, while The Edge Clubhouse will provide additional spaces for residents to relax, socialise and enjoy the incredible oceanfront setting,” she said.
“Together, these amenities have been designed to support every aspect of community life, whether that's keeping active, pursuing hobbies, sharing a meal with neighbours or simply enjoying the beautiful surroundings.
"We know it's these shared experiences that create lasting friendships and make communities like Ingenia Lifestyle Drift such special places to live.”
Constructed by Bundaberg builder JRZ Built, The Edge Clubhouse forms part of the continued expansion of Ingenia Lifestyle Drift, which currently has 100 settled homes and will ultimately comprise 326 homes.
Overlooking the ocean, Ingenia Lifestyle Drift offers direct access to coastal walking paths, premium lifestyle amenities and uninterrupted ocean views, creating one of Australia's most unique over 50s communities.
