Sowing the seeds for a fresh start

Wendy Morgan never thought she would find another home she loved as much as her Tamborine Mountain retreat – then she discovered Ingenia Lifestyle Millers Glen, and everything changed.
With its rainforest outlook and wide open spaces, Wendy Morgan’s property had been the perfect backdrop for enjoying the tranquillity of nature. But as the years passed and the garden she adored grew harder to manage, Wendy began to think about what the next chapter might look like.
After exploring several options, she discovered Ingenia Lifestyle Millers Glen at Beaudesert, and realised downsizing didn’t have to mean sacrificing comfort, privacy or lifestyle. Now she’s embracing a fresh start in a vibrant, connected community where her neighbours have quickly become friends.
“It’s not the same as living on the mountain, but it is equivalent to it,” Wendy said. “Ingenia has let me create a home that truly reflects who I am. I know I’m in the right place and it’s a good place to be.”
Wendy made the move with her elderly whippets Enzo and Ricky at the end of March 2025. With 30 years of friendships, creative pursuits and sense of identity all firmly rooted in Queensland’s Tamborine Mountain, moving too far away was never an option and Ingenia Lifestyle Millers Glen proved to be the perfect solution.
When she was first shown her spacious two-bedroom home with a rear deck overlooking the region’s rural surrounds, Wendy was hooked.
“After my place in the mountain with its space and rainforest outlook, I was uncertain about the community and was also looking at apartments in Brisbane,” she said.
“But when I saw the outlook from the back deck and the lovely raked ceiling, my heart leapt.
“There was the big glass window at the back, trees and landscape. I knew I could make something special of it.”
A year on, and with the help of a landscaper, Wendy has created a new garden for herself where she can sit and watch the world go by. To her delight it is fast becoming a haven for native wildlife, with kangaroos regularly hopping along the back fence.
“It’s my happy place,” she said. “Butterflies, bees and little insects are already coming to enjoy it, and now the wrens and finches are starting to visit too. I even had a tawny frogmouth sitting on the fence recently.
“It’s become such a hospitable space and a place where I can have neighbours over to enjoy it with me. I know it will only get better and better.”
