Hand knitted donation comforts health patients

Kind hearted and caring residents at Ingenia Lifestyle Albury have presented handmade crochet knee rugs to the Nurse Unit Manager at the Medical Ward at Albury Wodonga Health.

The craft club was only recently formed by new resident, Liz Hoare, who was joined by 11 other keen residents.

The residents spent many hours designing and knitting a range of hand stitched rugs which will be provided to patients for additional comfort as they undergo treatments.

Residents in the dementia ward will be gifted individual sensory blankets that feature buckles, zips and pockets stitched in to help keep patients hands busy and release a calming effect from the movement.

Residents in Ingenia Lifestyle Albury’s Craft Group, hope to continue their work and donate more of their handmade goods to a number of charitable causes in the community.
